“Public Space for the Danube Region” website launched

The environmental organization Environment-People-Law and the Civic Expert Council have launched a new website - Public Space for the Danube Region

The environmental organization Environment-People-Law and the Civic Expert Council have launched a new website – Public Space for the Danube Region – developed with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation’s European Program.

The objective of the project is to encourage public participation in the development and implementation of Ukraine’s National Action Plan for the European Strategy for the Danube Region, and will include the following activities:
Creating a network and database of Ukrainian NGOs, building cooperation between NGOs in Ukraine and other countries of the Danube region;
–  Conducting an informational tour of Ukrainian oblasts in the Danube region that will consist of a media campaign and public hearings aimed at highlighting key local problems and needs and identifying solutions to these problems to then be included in proposals to the National Action Plan and conveyed to the government;
– Informing the public and relevant government agencies in the Danube region about the objectives and main provisions of the Danube Strategy;
– Involving a wide range of the local population in the development of the National Action Plan;
– Publishing comments to the European Strategy and a glossary of new terms;
– Developing an information bank on the Danube Region.
