On March 26-28 Olexander Kvasnyevskyy, former President of Poland, visited Ukraine. He made his visit within the framework of the discussion forum, organized by Viktor Pinchuk Yalta European Strategy Project and the International Renaissance Foundation.

Olexander Kvasnyevskyy visited three Ukrainian cities: Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk, where public discussions on Ukraine’s prospects for EU membership were discussed with representatives of local authorities, NGOs, mass media, students, and scientists.

Making comments on Ukraine’s prospects for EU membership he noted: “Confrontation of Russia and Europe is dangerous for Ukraine. Ukraine has made her decision and should implement it”. According to Kvasnyevskyy, Ukraine has to define what place she would like to have in Europe, and to declare: “We want European Union and NATO membership, we have fulfilled a great number of necessary requirements and said many times, that we are interested in European integration”.
