“One of the successful projects is the Custody Records system. The system was implemented by the police together with public organizations. It already works effectively in 66 district police stations,” Ruslan Goryachenko emphasized.

He added that for effective work with the Custody Records system, the Department of the Main Inspection and Human Rights Compliance of the National Police together with the Ukrainian Legal Aid Foundation and the Human Rights and Justice Program and the Human Rights and Justice Program of the International Renaissance Foundation created an educational – Custody Records information platform.

The functionality of the platform consists of two main components: a news portal about the operation of the Custody Records system and an educational platform for strengthening the level of protection for police officers.

Therefore, on the web portal, police officers will take special training courses to improve their professional skills in ensuring human rights and freedoms, combating crime, etc. At the same time, the platform provides for the posting of information related to the observance of human rights.
