Specialists conducted a study on the problems of processing and disposal of waste from destruction

Russian shelling leaves behind tons of debris from the destruction. Remains of enterprises, residential buildings, and infrastructure facilities – all pose a problem for the environment. After all, the waste must go somewhere. Storing them in a landfill is dangerous.

Work is underway to dismantle the rubble formed due to hostilities and shelling, and the settlements are being cleared of the debris of destroyed objects. A significant part of the waste from the destruction can be reused not only during the restoration of damaged objects but also during the production of construction materials and the restoration of the country.

Specialists of “Stop Poisoning Kryvyi Rih,” with the support of the International Foundation “Renaissance” and Sweden, studied the problem of handling destruction waste. We considered global practices of processing construction waste, possibilities of using demolition waste as secondary raw materials, and legislative changes that have taken place in Ukraine in this direction.
