On March 30, 2007, a meeting of the public council on the European and Euro-Atlantic integration – a counseling body attached to the Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration — took place.
Creation of the public council was initiated within the framework of the project European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – public monitoring of the authorities, financed from the International Renaissance Foundation grant. Activities of the public council aim at generation of opinions and proposals of public on the European and Euro-Atlantic integration, establishing of stable connections between local authorities and public associations when elaborating and implementing state policy on the European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The list of council members and the Council Regulations were approved by the Administration Chairman’s order as of November 22, 2006, № 664.
Main issues considered during the meeting were as follows:
– Draft recommendations to the local authorities resulted from the monitoring of activities of the local authorities in the sphere of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration;
– Regional activities aimed at fulfilling of the Ukrainian Cabinet Ministers’ Order № 89-р, dated March, 7 2003 “On Approval of the Schedule of Fulfillment in 2007 of the State Program of Informing Public about the European Integration of Ukraine”.
– Regional events within the framework of celebration of the Day of Europe.
