The State Tax Service is expanding its range of digital tools. Today, it launched another interactive dashboard titled “Cash Register/Electronic Cash Register Analytics in Ukraine: Key Indicators.”
The new tool was presented by State Tax Service Head Lesya Karnaukh during a meeting with representatives of business associations.
The dashboard is already available on the State Tax Service web portal – https://surl.li/hzmgy
The tool is the result of a collaboration between the State Tax Service, the Fiscal Policy Research Center (FPRC), and the International Renaissance Foundation.
“This is, in essence, open data on how the country’s economy actually works,” said Lesya Karnaukh.
What the dashboard shows:
– the use of cash registers and electronic cash registers based on fiscal receipt data;
– business market activity;
– the scale and structure of payment transactions;
– the actual economic “pulse” of the state.
Who can benefit from this information:
– Businesses – to monitor market activity,
– Media and experts – to work with objective economic indicators,
– The public – to understand the structure of calculations,
– Government agencies – to analyze fiscal performance by region.
The dashboard uses anonymized and aggregated data from 2025 through the first quarter of 2026 and will be updated monthly with data from the previous period.
The data is anonymized and accessible to everyone.
The dashboard consists of 4 sections:
Analytics provides an overview:
– how many businesses use cash registers (CRs)/electronic cash registers (ECRs);
– how many CRs/ECRs are registered and actually in use;
– the total volume of transactions, including excise goods separately;
– the form of payments.
Dynamics shows how indicators change from month to month:
– the ratio of cash to non-cash payments;
– sales trends for excise goods.
The table provides a breakdown by region of the following:
– the number of registered cash registers/electronic cash registers;
– the volume of transactions;
– the volume of sales of excise goods.
A map that visually illustrates economic activity across the country:
– where the highest volume of transactions via cash registers (CRs) and point-of-sale (POS) systems is concentrated;
– where activity is lower.
We will continue to update the dashboard!
Next steps:
– expanding comparative analytics, including the ability to analyze changes over time and compare metrics with previous periods;
– deepening analytical breakdowns by region, business type, and payment method;
– improving the clarity of data presentation through summarized conclusions and visual indicators.
“The State Tax Service is taking another step toward a system where decisions are made based on facts and analytics, not assumptions,” emphasized the head of the State Tax Service.
