Interesting questions, shocking facts, professional answers. Online course “Women and men: gender for all” for interested opinion leaders of pro-European Ukraine.

The course is designed for a broad audience: students, civil society activists, think tanks experts, HR experts, all who seek to understand gender issues. Together we will learn how to professionally analyze events and social phenomena from a gender perspective, how to avoid discrimination, how to better understand our rights and ways to protect them. You will also be presented arguments in support of the formation of public policies from a position of non-discrimination and gender equality, which can be effectively used in public debates. Also for most active trainees we plan to give gifts such as books and magazines on gender issues.

The course is divided into two levels: 1) a basic level, that will be interesting for everyone, and 2) an expert level for gender issues professionals. Students of the course will have a possibility to obtain certificates on completion of a basic or expert level.

The course provides innovative and simply interesting methods of learning: watching videos, doing practical tasks, and participating in discussions. Register now – we begin the training in October!

The course will feature the following well-known Ukrainian experts and public activists as guests:

  • Iryna Slavinska, journalist of the Ukrainian Public Radio and the Ukrainian Pravda.
  • Olena Bogdanova, expert.
  • Olga Vesnyanka, journalist, expert on gender and human rights issues.
  • Rostyslav Semkiv, director of Smoloskyp publishing house.
  • Maria Berlinska, master of history (Kyiv Mohyla Academy NaUKMA), director of Aero Intelligence Support Center, volunteer in the ATO area.
  • Artem Chapai, journalist, writer.

Trainer: Tamara Martsenyuk

Ph.D. in Sociology, Associate Professor of Sociology Department of Kyiv Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA), author of about dozen courses (including “Introduction to Gender Studies”, “Feminism as Social Theory and Social Movement”, “Gender and Politics”, “Masculinity and Men’s Studies”, “Social Problems in Ukraine and the World”, “Gender and Economics etc.), more than 50 scientific publications, including the articles and chapters of books in English, manuals and research reports.

During the last three years she taught three courses in English in Germany, gave public lectures (in particular, “Gender, Nation and Revolution: Role of Women in EuroMaidan Protests of 2013-2014”) and conducted  research in Canada, USA, Sweden, Scotland etc. The course trainer obtained several international scholarships and participated in a series of international conferences.

The course is completely free. The trainer may recommend literature to explore a particular topic in details, however, the available course materials will be sufficient to successfully complete the course. All what you need is the access to the internet at a speed sufficient to watch video lectures.

Video lectures, assignments and forum will be available at any time during the course.
