Over the two and a half months of cooperation under the second phase of the third project “Ensuring Ukraine’s European Integration Course by Increasing the Volume of Expert and Information Support to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU”, its experts have processed and provided expert opinions on twenty-four draft laws. The draft laws include those on improving the mechanism for preventing and combating domestic and gender-based violence; on improving mechanisms aimed at preventing and combating terrorism; on protecting the interests of land owners, as well as on the application of administrative procedures in the field of land relations, etc.
The project “Ensuring Ukraine’s European Integration Course by Increasing the Volume of Expert and Information Support to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU” is aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of the Committee’s secretariat. It is supported by the International Renaissance Foundation and implemented by the Euro-Atlantic Course NGO.
For more than three years of cooperation with the Committee, the project experts have reviewed and provided opinions on almost two hundred draft laws. When analysing the draft laws, the experts examined whether the proposed provisions comply with EU law and Ukraine’s obligations under the Association Agreement. The second phase of the third project will last until September this year.
