Oleksandr Sushko, Executive Director of the International Renaissance Foundation (Open Society Network) based in Kyiv, Ukraine (since 2018).

Ph.D. in Political Science in International Relations.

In 2000-2006, worked as the Director of the Center for Peace, Conversion and Foreign Policy of Ukraine, and in 2006-2017, he served as the Research Director of the Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation. 

From 2011 to 2017, he was Chairman of the Board of the International Renaissance Foundation. 

In addition, Oleksandr Sushko was the National Coordinator of the Ukrainian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and the first co-chair of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform — the bilateral insitution established within the frames of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement to facilitate civil society cooperation and policy impact. (2015-2016). 

Areas of expertise: European politics, EU-Ukraine relations, Schengen law and its implications for the EU’s Eastern neighbors, EU visa and migration policy, border management, mobility and international contacts, civil society.
