Online Course: “Organizational Development Strategies for the Public Sector”
“Organizational Development Recipes for the Civil Society Sector” is a course on institutional strength and improving project management to build the capacity of civil society organizations. It is now available on the “Zrozumilo!” online educational platform.
Organizational development is not a one-time change or a single strategic document, but a continuous process that helps civil society organizations become stronger, more effective, and more resilient. Systematic improvement of internal processes, management approaches, and teams enables CSOs to successfully respond to challenges, implement projects effectively, and achieve long-term results.
“Ukraine currently needs qualified project and program managers capable of managing complex processes in the context of war and post-war recovery. Achieving this requires cooperation among government, civil society organizations, and the private sector. Civil society organizations are the drivers of systemic change, and professional project management will strengthen them as much as possible,” says Natalia Slynko, PMP®, PMI-PMOCP®, Vice President of Program Activities at the Eastern Europe Foundation and course instructor.
The course “Organizational Development Strategies for the Civil Society Sector” is designed to help participants better understand the principles of operational improvement and learn how to apply them in their work.
“Civil society organizations often serve as drivers of change: they ensure government accountability, foster community development, and implement innovative solutions at the local level. With every challenge overcome, every problem solved, and every project implemented, an organization grows and strengthens its organizational development. This is how shared aspirations and a sense of commitment translate into concrete, systematic actions,” emphasizes Natalia Starinska, PMP®, a project management trainer and consultant at Instar and a speaker for the course.
During the course, participants will:

One of the key areas of organizational development is project management. The course places special emphasis on improving project management skills. A systematic approach to project management helps improve the quality of an organization’s work, ensure sustainable results, use resources more effectively, and strengthen the trust of partners and donors.
Using the Eastern Europe Foundation as an example, the course demonstrates practical experience in developing project management and the role of civil society organizations in promoting modern standards in this field.
The course consists of nine lectures. It combines theory, practical examples, and real-world experience in improving organizational processes. Completing the course will help you develop a holistic vision of organizational development and find practical solutions to strengthen your organization’s capacity.

Successful completion of the course leads to a certificate worth 0.2 ECTS credits, or six academic hours, and counts as continuing education.
