International round table “Remembering the Holocaust”

International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) is intergovernmental body, which according to the Declaration of the Stockholm International Forum on the Holocaust (2000) shall provide support to national and international events on researching, teaching and commemorating Holocaust, the persecution and murder of Jews and Roma by the Nazis. Thirty-one states are acting members of the Alliance; eight states have observer status. Ukraine has intention to join Alliance as an observer.

On the occasion of commencement of the Hungarian presidency in Alliance, Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, Ukrainian Association of Jewish Studies conduct this round table in partnership with the International Renaissance Foundation and supported by Embassy of the Republic of Hungary in Ukraine and International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance .

Teaching and commemorating Holocaust processes in sovereign Ukraine has significantly intensified. The round table will cover consideration of urgent issues related to these processes, discussion on various aspects of educational and outreach activities, including its formal and informal components, as well as on historical remembrance of the Holocaust.
