On September 19 Kharkiv hosted the Volunteers Solidarity Forum

On September 19 Kharkiv hosted the Volunteers Solidarity Forum. The event was organized by the volunteer groups Help Army, Kharkiv Station, Territory of Peace NGO, Maidan Monitoring, Ukraine Crisis Media Center and the Peace and Order NGO. Support was provided by the International Renaissance Foundation. The informational partners was the Bagels&Letters PR agency.

There were approximately 300 participants from 20 cities of Ukraine and more than 70 speakers.

The forum was organized along four thematic groups: public safety and defense, informational policy and informational security, assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military hospitals, assistance to IDPs. The largest sessions, with more than 20 speakers at each, dealt with assistance to the military and IDPs.

Representatives of numerous organizations were involved in the forum, including: Kharkiv Civil Guard, Ukrainian Frontiers NGO, Support the Army of Ukraine Foundation, Patriot NGO, MAMO, Khotabych Medical Service, Volunteer Medical Service, Aerorozvidka, Donbas battalion, UN and OSCE. Volunteers Yuriy Biryukov, Tetyana Rychkova and Armen Nikohosyan helped with organization.

Skype was used to connect with Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy, Deputy Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko, expert of the Ukraine Crisis Media Center Dmytro Solotukhin, and surgeon of the 17th Clinical Hospital of Kyiv Oleksandr Linchevsky.

“Just because the forum is over doesn’t mean all the issues have been resolved. This is far from the end. There is rethinking and analysis going on. People are starting to analyze their work on the macro level. This is no longer just response to immediate challenges,” said Natalka Zubar, the chairman of the board of Maidan Monitoring.
