Think Local, Act Together: an event on the role of civil society in Ukraine’s recovery will take place in Rome

On July 11, 2025, Rome will host an international event entitled “Think Local, Act Together: Civil Society and Partnerships for Ukraine’s Recovery”. The event is organized by the Recovery and Development Agency with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation as part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC-Rome).

The aim of the event is to strengthen cooperation between local authorities, civil society organizations, and international partners for the effective, inclusive, and sustainable recovery of Ukraine, particularly small and medium-sized communities.

Participants will discuss:

  • the role of civil society in recovery processes;
  • financing instruments for communities and civil society initiatives;
  • successful examples of inter-municipal and international partnerships;
  • challenges and solutions for attracting international aid;
  • the participation of veterans, IDPs, youth, and women in reconstruction planning.

The final panel will feature representatives of the governments of Ukraine, Italy, Germany, and Poland, as well as international donor institutions. The closing session will be moderated by Foundation`s Deputy Executive Director Inna Pidluska.

Mayors of Ukrainian and Italian communities, leaders of civil society organizations, international experts, and representatives of the diaspora are invited to participate. After the discussion, there will be an informal reception and cultural program—an exhibition of Ukrainian artists living and working in Italy.

Date and time: July 11, 4:30 p.m.

Place: Salone Delle Colonne, Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, 26C, Рим
