The Frontier.308, Art for Dialogue. Dnipro and Kharkiv Impressions

On February 15-16, Dnipro and Kharkiv hosted the first events held as part of the literary and artistic project “The Frontier.308”. The purpose of the events was the creation of a uniform intellectual space, combining literature and fine arts, in order to facilitate a dialogue and the development of common narratives in the contemporary Ukrainian culture.

In Dnipro, the public information and exhibition center “Mediaprostir” hosted the opening of the joint illustration and poster exhibition created by artists Andriy Yermolenko and Maxim Palenko, as well as the literary readings with the participation of poets Olena Gerasimyuk, Boris Gumenyuk and Oleg Korotash.

TheFrontier.308 is a project not only to combine two types of arts, but also to make them an instrument for a dialogue. Bringing together participants of our events, we discussed various topics to reveal the local originality and uniqueness of each of the cities. This, in its turn, becomes a factor facilitating a dialogue between the people from various professional and artistic backgrounds, essentially poets, painters, musicians, as well as community activists, volunteers and human rights activists. In other words, the representatives of the groups that would never or very rarely come across each other”, said Radoslava Chekmysheva, Cultural Initiatives Manager of the International Renaissance Foundation.
