Candidate of Legal Sciences and Master of Public Administration.
He was a member of the Constitutional Assembly of Ukraine, Chair of the Public Council at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, a member of the Co-ordinating Council for the Promotion of Civil Society, established by the President of Ukraine, and many other consultative and advisory bodies.
He joined the Foundation’s team in 2007 as Director of the ‘Democratic Practice’ Programme (now ‘Democracy and Good Governance’).
Oleksiy Orlovskyi was the driving force behind Ukraine’s accession to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). From 2016 to 2023, he served as a civil society representative on the EITI International Board. As a member of the EITI Board, he chaired the Governance and Oversight Committee.
Oleksiy has participated in eight Open Government Partnership Global Summits (since 2012) and six EITI Global Conferences (since 2009).
He has received awards and honours from the Chair of the EITI Board, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
He is an expert on civil society development, anti-corruption, municipal law and transparency in the extractive sector.
