Winners of the “Public support for integrated border management and cross-border cooperation between Ukraine and the EU” call for proposals.

The International Renaissance Foundation announces the results of the “Public Support for Integrated Border Management and Cross-Border Cooperation between Ukraine and the EU” call for proposals.

The aim of the call for proposals is to strengthen the role, voice and capacity of civil society in promoting innovation to facilitate border crossing by citizens; to improve border infrastructure and establish cross-border cooperation of communities to address common problems of local development.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Foundation with the European Union in the framework of the “EU4USociety” project, 3 organizations will implement the following projects in 2021:

  1. Project “Harmonization of interests of cross-border cooperation subjects as a factor of local development in the border regions of Ukraine”, NGO “Quadrivium” (Chernivtsi);
  2. Project “Public support for cross-border cooperation in the International Biosphere Reserve “Eastern Carpathians”, NGO” Danube-Carpathian Program “(Lviv);
  3. Project “Roadmap for the reconstruction of the Ukrainian part of the international cross-border railway Zabuzh (Poland) – Khyriv (Ukraine)”, Foundation for Development of NGO “Western Ukrainian Resource Center” (Lviv).

For those who have not received financial support this time, the Expert Council of the IRF European Program advises paying attention on, when submitting project proposals for calls:

  • Before submitting a project proposal, get acquainted with other, already existing similar projects and products;
  • Applicants must demonstrate experience in the field in which they intend to carry out activities under the project proposal.
  • The text of the project proposal should substantiate the ability to implement the project of the organization and the persons involved, provide appropriate letters of support from the declared partners, involve local media to disseminate the work.

The next call for proposal, related to the integrated border management and cross-border cooperation theme, will be announced in 2021.

In 2020, the International Renaissance Foundation launched the EU4USociety project with EU financial support. The overall goal of the Project is to strengthen the involvement, sustainability, capacity, relevance and influence of Ukrainian civil society in addressing current domestic, regional and global challenges.
