International Renaissance Foundation to work with government agencies to introduce e-democracy
The International Renaissance Foundation has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the State Agency of Ukraine for Science, Innovation, and Information and the National Center for E-Government on implementation of the Open Government Partnership initiative.
The memorandum stresses that one of the most important public administration reform tools to increase government openness and accountability to the public, including to business and civil society institutions, is widespread introduction of e-government technologies – a key element in the development of e-democracy on the national level.
In view of this, the sides agreed to propose candidates and involve civil society institutions and individual experts in the implementation of Ukraine’s National Action Plan. The International Renaissance Foundation agreed to support the “Introduction of e-government technologies and development of e-democracy” component of the action plan.
