International Renaissance Foundation publishes Brief Report for 2012
The International Renaissance Foundation has published its 2012 Brief Report in Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (in Ukrainian). It highlights the main initiatives supported last year and the most important achievements in the organization’s key areas of activities.
Some of the most important projects that IRF contributed to include:
– comprehensive monitoring of the parliamentary elections;
– preparation of the Freedom House special report on democracy in Ukraine;
– public monitoring of Ukraine’s achievement of its commitments within the international Open Government Partnership initiative;
– preparation of the State Policy Strategy for Civil Society Development;
– monitoring of the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression;
– development of the European Integration Index for Eastern Partnership Countries;
– monitoring of visa practices of EU countries;
– expansion of the free legal aid system;
– combating discrimination;
– monitoring police performance;
– legal empowerment of Roma communities;
– organization of events during the 64th World Newspaper Congress;
– introduction of a media literacy course;
– development of palliative care;
– promoting access to pain relief;
– hepatitis prevention campaign;
– monitoring university admissions;
– development of inclusive education.
In 2012 IRF provided UAH 63,385,523 in support for 531 projects. Information about all these projects is available here.
