Estonia is supporting providing medical care for Ukrainians hurt in street clashes with 50 000 Euros. The contribution is going to the International Renaissance Foundation within the Humanitarian Solidarity Initiative. It was launched by Ukrainian writers Serhiy Zhadan, Oksana Zabuzhko, Andriy Kurkov, and ex-Minister of health Vasyl Knyazevych.

“We wish to help those injured in the Ukrainian street clashes. By supporting the people providing aid on the spot, we can be sure that our support will reach a maximum number of people needing medical assistance,” Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said. It was cited by the MFA Press Department.

Paet added, that it is essential to sit down for political talks in Ukraine and refrain from further violence.

The allocation will be made from funds intended for development and humanitarian aid within the 2014 Foreign Ministry budget.

Humanitarian Solidarity welcomes open charitable donations. For international donations, contracts will be made between donors and IRF. Information about donations will be published with the donors’ permission.
