A Study on the Resilience and Participation of Civil Society Organizations in Recovery

The study “Level of Resilience and Participation of Civil Society Organizations in the Recovery and Reconstruction of Local Communities” aims to demonstrate the extent to which civil society and charitable organizations are involved in various aspects of recovery and reconstruction, as well as how their resilience affects their ability to participate in these processes.

As part of the Impulse Project, our partners at the Eastern Europe Foundation conducted online and telephone surveys of over 200 CSOs from various regions, as well as focus group discussions. This allowed for a comprehensive assessment of the organizations’ resources and their approaches to their work.

The study provides a comprehensive overview of the current capabilities and challenges facing the civil society sector. It helps identify where CSOs are already effectively supporting local communities and where they require additional resources and attention. This enables donors, government agencies, and international partners to make targeted investments in the recovery and strengthening of Ukrainian communities.

The full version of the report includes the methodology, detailed findings, and recommendations for further support of civil society organizations during Ukraine’s recovery.

The study was conducted as part of the “Impulse” project, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation and the International Renaissance Foundation with support from Norway (Norad) and Sweden (Sida). View the study presentation online.
