Now it is summer and people are supposed to be more interested in having relax. However, just in summer the chatroom attendance is permanently growing. In 2014 no more than 30-50 people monthly asked for advice from the lawyer. Almost 300 persons use the chatroom each summer month this year.
Citizens’ concerns are quite various. The majority of inquiries (233) came from the military personnel and members of their families. The most burning issues for them deal with mobilization and military discharge, cash security and registration of social benefits for ATO participants, preservations of job places and average income. For example, the woman asks: “My husband is 29, he never served in the army. He got call-up papers. May he be sent to regular military service and then to ATO zone”? The lawyer provided the answer in some minutes: “Regular military service is not an indispensable condition for being called up to military service during mobilization. The final decision of the call-up commission on mobilization will depend on several factors: the person’s suitability for military service, his military specialty, the mobilization plan, existence of the grounds for a delay from mobilization”.

As soon as the question comes, the citizen receives the relevant answer – quickly and professionally. The vast majority of our visitors are quite satisfied with the services. Lawyers of the Community Law Center network are involved into providing consultations according to the schedule. There are people whose problems are impossible to be solved with the help of consultation online, so we tell them how to receive legal aid in the local partner organizations which are more than 40 all over Ukraine, – the lawyer of the Information Resource Centre “Legal Space” Volodymyr Orlovskiy comments.
Other legal issues are not losing their relevance also. Thus, 168 citizens asked questions on labor legislation – registration of annual leaves, dismissal, receiving social benefits. 111 persons were interested in civil law issues – inheritance, payment of credits, registrations of pensions, consumer protection, etc. The certain group includes questions from IDPs. They are forced to resolve difficult life situations, therefore they need to know how to renew documents, to receive social benefits, who can help settle down in a new place.
Let us remind that the LegalSpace chatroom works since February last year with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation. This service is available both on the portal and in its mobile version, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, from 10 am till 4 pm.
In order to provide the services to as many as possible people, Community Law Centers work in districts, post information on the Internet, bulletin boards in libraries, education institutions, village councils, other state institutions.
