Alexander Soros visits Kyiv for the fourth time in a year

Alexander Soros, chair of the Board of Directors of the Open Society Foundations, made his fourth visit to Ukraine this year. During this trip, which emphasizes his continued support for the country in the midst of war, he met with the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and with the Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine.

The meeting at the Presidential Office focused on important issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the Open Society Foundations, which is chaired by Soros and includes the International Renaissance Foundation. The parties focused on implementing the Peace Formula, which includes ensuring energy and nuclear security, food security, and the release of all captured and deported Ukrainians. Alexander Soros emphasized the importance of restoring critical infrastructure, especially after the recent Russian shelling, which Andriy Yermak called one of the largest in the Russian Federation.

They also discussed the possibilities of developing the Ukrainian economy, rebuilding the country, and humanitarian policy. Soros emphasized the growing role of Ukrainian civil society, which plays a key role in countering Russian aggression and protecting democratic values. He noted that strengthening the dialogue between the government and civil society is vital to Ukraine’s victory strategy.

During the visit, Alexander Soros also met with Katarina Mathernova, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine. The meeting focused on the EU’s support for Ukraine and European integration. Mathernova reiterated the EU’s readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in implementing reforms and rebuilding the country, emphasizing the importance of the European integration course for Ukraine’s future.
