The International Renaissance Foundation participated in the preparation of the annual report of the European Commission
Starting from 2008, every spring the European Commission issues reports on neighboring countries and invites non-governmental organizations to participate in provision of pithy content for these documents. Thus, again this year Ukrainian non-governmental organizations were offered to provide their comments regarding the content that has to be provided in the report of the EC regarding Ukraine, which is due to be published in March-April of 2010.
The International Renaissance Foundation did not stay away from this process and provided its contribution to the report of the European Commission, by providing an analysis of the current situation and specific proposals regarding improvement of the situation in such areas as:
- Democracy and the Rule of Law
- Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom
- Treatment of Roma and Anti-discrimination
- Civil Society Development
- Local Self-Government Development
