The International Renaissance Foundation participated in the Information Fair 2009 held at the Ukrainian Parliament

October 21-22, 2009, the International Renaissance Foundation took part in the Information Fair 2009 held at the Ukrainian Parliament. USAID’s legislative strengthening project implemented by Ohio State University, “The Parliamentary Development Project for Ukraine” (PDP II), organized it in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada.

The Information Fair is a presentation of resources of NGO and international donor organizations.

The exhibition was held on the third floor of the Verkhovna Rada on Hrushevskoho 5. During those two days, participating organizations presented their projects and hand out literature and materials to MPs, their assistants and consultants as well as staff of parliamentary committees and factions. The Infofair was an excellent opportunity for organizations to communicate directly with members and staff of VR Committees and Factions.

This is the fifth Verkhovna Rada Information Fair. The previous ones were held in 1998, 2003, 2006 and 2008. In the past, this event has been met with a high frequency of MP and staff visiting the exhibition. 39 organizations, including United Nations Office in Ukraine, U.S. Embassy, Kyiv, Ukraine/Public Affairs Section Information Resource Center, ICF “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine”, British Council Ukraine, USAID Ukraine Rule of Law Project, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung/Kyiv Office, Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine, East Europe Foundation, participated in the event this year.
