The International Renaissance Foundation participated in signing of the Memorandum of Philanthropists of Ukraine

The Memorandum was signed by the directors of such foundations: Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation For Development of Ukraine, East Europe Foundation, International Renaissance Foundation, Victor Pinchuk’s Foundation, Oleksandr Feldman’s Foundation, Ukraine 3000 Charitable Foundation, Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, Olena Franchuk AntiAIDS Foundation, Klitschko Brothers Foundation, International Charitable Foundation Caritas Ukraine, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk People of the Future Foundation.

For the first time the largest charitable foundations of Ukraine united for the simplification of the registration procedure and administration of charitable organization; increasing control of philanthropists over the use of the provided assistance; introducing new instruments of philanthropy, as well as reducing the tax burden on recipients of charitable assistance.

All signatories and MPs have expressed hope that parliament will leave political differences aside and unite to support charity.

The text of the memorandum will be sent to the Speaker of Verkhovna Rada and Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Spirituality Yavorivsky.

By the way, it became known after the event that the Parliamentary Committee on Culture and Spirituality unanimously supported the draft bill “On Amending Some Laws of Ukraine (concerning reduce of the tax burden on recipients of charitable aid)” (No 6344 from 26.04.2010) at its meeting.

Memorandum is open for signature by all interested philanthropists.
