Results of public discussion of priorities in activity of the International Renaissance Foundation for the year of 2010
The International Renaissance Foundation has summarized the results of the public discussion of strategic priorities in its program activity for the year of 2010. The discussion took place in a form of an online survey from April till July of 2009.
Defining strategic directions of the program activity for the year of 2010, the International Renaissance Foundation invited the public to engage into the discussion and evaluation of program priorities and to express their comments and proposals. The public discussion of priorities of IRF program activity took place in the form of the online survey from April till July of 2009. Also, in August of 2009, the Foundation initiated a discussion of obvious and forecasted consequences of the financial-economic crisis in Ukraine and possible ways to overcome it, in order to define priorities of the newly-created Anti-Crisis Humanitarian Program, designated for helping people, cultural and public centers, which were hit by the crisis most severely.
Participation of the public in planning and activity of the International Renaissance Foundation is a necessary condition for observance of the principle of transparency and fulfillment of the Foundation’s Mission. Our main idea is to be a public institution, thanks to which the public sector participates in defining of priorities of it own development and influences the effective distribution of funds for their practical implementation in the form of projects. During a year, IRF team regularly addresses to public activists, representatives of mass media and authorities in cities and regions of Ukraine, in order to find out about the most pressing needs and problems, whose resolution the Foundation’s efforts must be directed on.
