Human rights organizations in Luhansk region carry out monitoring of protection of rights of convicts in Luhansk penal colonies

October 29, 2009, a press conference on the topic “Rights of Convicts in Luhansk Oblast” took place at the press center of the Ukrainian-Canadian “Renaissance” Center in Luhansk.

During the press conference, a campaign of monitoring and protection of rights of convicts in penal institutions of Luhansk Oblast was presented to the public of Luhansk region. The campaign is planned for the next nine months within the framework of the project “Public campaign for protection of human rights in penal institutions of Luhansk Oblast”, under the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
