Social Capital and Academic Publications Program was launched in 2003 as the successor of Translation Project and Electronic Publishing Development Programs.

Program budget for 2009: $ 180 000.

Program goal: To wider access to information (especially research literature) for its effective usage in developing ukrainian society.

Strategic approach of Social Capital and Academic Publications Program includes the following activities:

• Translation Project: grant competitions Translating foreign literature into Ukrainian .
• Development of Open Access to research literature: policy development and support to best practices (Open Access journals and Open Access repositories/archives).
• Development of Access to Knowledge, effective knowledge governance and balanced intellectual property rights.
• New media usage: innovative component of the program.
